The Nobody Inn, Doddiscombsleigh
Community Consultation feedback form
Public Consultation for the extension of the NoBody Inn Public house and the development of five new dwellings on the adjacent land fronting on to Ryecroft Road. To take place on Saturday 27th January 2018 between 2 and 4pm at The NoBody Inn, Doddiscomsleigh.
The development and extension of The NoBody Inn is critical to it's success as both a business and as an asset to the local community. Following feedback from Teignnbridge District Councils Planning officers the proposals for the extension to the public house have been amended to reduce the impact and bulk of the extension whilst maintaining the amount of accommodation which is essential to the long term viability of the business.
Furthermore, the remodelled carpark has beensoftened by the introduction of further planting together with a band of trees along the new Eastern boundary. Please refer to the proposed site plan, together with the lexicon of suggested imagery. Essentially, the layout and form of the proposed housing will be a ‘loose’ and informal grouping of homes and out buildings. Positioned at informal angles and setback from - Ryecroft Road. This settlement pattern accords with and will reinforce the rural ‘grain’ and pattern of the indigenous buildings. In addition a landscaped buffer zone is to be incorporated to the East of the site to maintain the break with St Michael's Church and Town Barton. The proposal is for the development to be ‘lowslung’ - much like vernacular buildings in the area, with accommodation in the roof or vaulted spaces as per the visual imagery. The overall massing or grouping combines both three and four bedroom family houses.
